This hand-painted papyrus artwork is inspired by the banquet scene from the Tomb of Ramose, located in the Valley of the Nobles, Thebes. Ramose, a vizier under Amenhotep III and Akhenaten, is honored in his tomb with finely detailed reliefs showing a grand gathering of noble guests, some of whom are his own relatives.
The scene captures elite Egyptian customs, where guests, dressed in fine linen garments and adorned with jewelry, participate in a formal banquet. Hieroglyphic inscriptions name each guest, preserving their legacy. Inspired by the original unpainted limestone carvings, this artwork replicates the engraved-style detailing and refined facial expressions seen in Theban tombs.
